Steve’s Journal: Week Four. Part 1
Dear Sharon and Armand,
Well, this was a tough week. Skiing for the full day on Saturday and Sunday caused me to eat more. Still, I ate less than normal. My wife made her special butterscotch oatmeal cookies. Well, I did fall off the wagon for one evening. Eight of them? I couldn’t help it!
My exercise was better this week. Two days of skiing, three sets of hard tennis and one cardiovascular workout, which was 30 minutes on the treadmill.
I’m glad you made it back from skiing safely. You seem to have made reasonable food choices at meals. I can hardly tell you were away. Your alcohol intake was the same as usual, so this little vacation didn’t throw you off too much!
Now, about those oatmeal cookies. You had more than a dozen! Nice of your wife to bake them, but where did she keep them? Were they on the counter, in a see-through container? Perhaps next time she should put them somewhere you won’t readily come across them. And hand-ration them out to the family and you. If you see it, you might eat it.
I noticed some respectable restraint with the breakfast on Monday — only one slice of bacon and one egg. This could have been a high fat/calorie feast. Good job!
